Refunds and cancellation

In force from 4 September 2026. Part of the terms of service.

The short version. Fourteen days to change your mind after your first purchase, refunded in full. Cancel whenever you like to stop the next renewal; the year you have paid for runs to its end. Your files are always yours, licence or no licence.

Changing your mind

If you are unhappy within 14 days of your first purchase, email billing@reqforge.net and we will refund it in full. You do not have to give a reason, though a sentence about what was wrong would help us.

This is deliberately simple: there is a fourteen-day trial before any money changes hands, so nobody should be buying blind — and if they did, they get their money back.

After the first fourteen days

Subscriptions are annual and paid in advance, and we do not refund the unused part of a year. What you can always do is cancel, which stops the renewal; the seats keep working until the end of the year you paid for.

Two exceptions, because they are fair:

It does not work and we cannot fix it. If ReqForge has a defect that stops you using it for what you bought it for, and we cannot fix it in a reasonable time, we refund the remainder of your year pro rata.
We change the terms or the price mid-term to your disadvantage. We do not intend to, but if it happened, you would get the remainder of the year back.

Changing how many seats you have

Add seats whenever you need them; Stripe charges the pro-rated remainder of your year for the new ones. Remove seats and the reduction applies at your next renewal — we do not refund seats mid-year, and you can reassign the ones you are paying for to somebody else as often as you like in the meantime.

How to cancel

Email billing@reqforge.net from an administrator address, or use the billing portal link in the administration console. Cancel at any point before the renewal date; there is no notice period and no cancellation fee. We will confirm in writing, and we will not make you speak to anyone to do it.

If a payment fails

Stripe retries a failed card for about a fortnight and we email the administrator. ReqForge keeps working throughout that window rather than stopping the day a card expires. If it is still unpaid at the end of it, the seats stop until the payment goes through.

What happens to your work

Nothing. Your collections, environments and history are files on your own disk, in a folder you chose. When a licence ends, ReqForge opens in read-only mode: you can still open, edit and export everything, and the command-line tool still exports. It will not send requests until there is a valid seat again. We never delete, lock or withhold your files.

If you are buying as a consumer

ReqForge is sold to organisations, but if you are buying as an individual for purposes outside a business, you have a statutory right to cancel a distance contract within 14 days. Asking us to give you access immediately means you agree that we start supplying straight away; you may still cancel within those 14 days, and we may charge for what you used before cancelling. In practice the policy above is more generous, and none of it affects your statutory rights.

Chargebacks

If something has gone wrong, email us — we would much rather refund you than argue with a bank. A chargeback raised without contacting us first suspends the organisation's seats while it is investigated.
